Gymnastics

Potchefstroom Campus

Gymnastics is a sport that states: “When the world says give up, hope whispers try it one more time.” Gymnastics is sport of strength, drive and determination. Gymnastics is not just a sport, but a lifestyle.

Here at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University (NWU) we offer five of the nine different types of gymnastics. We offer women’s artistic gymnastics (WAG), men’s artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, tumbling and trampoline. Every year we compete in the USSA tournament, where we face five other South African universities. NWU Potchefstroom Gymnastics has been the reigning champions for three years (2017, 2018 and 2019).

At NWU Potchefstroom Gymnastics we are not just teammates, we are a family from diverse backgrounds doing something we love. Together we train hard to achieve a common goal of WINNING. Many of our gymnasts have never done gymnastics before, but that does not mean they are not welcome. We take in experienced gymnasts as well as beginners. We are a community of students teaching other students to have fun while working hard together.
